Americans love to compliment others and they often praise others. However, even if they do not like you, they still praise you.
It is true.
There is a story that I heard from two women who are the Australian-owner of a HR consulting firm, that Americans might say:
Good Job! But then what? They're not Hired.
Therefore, if you work with the Americans, or communicate with an American, you should be careful when Americans praise you.
Experience: not because people compliment you that you think you are better.
I do not understand why Americans like to compliment others. In some countries, the excessive praise or compliment without blame and criticism, it is considered to be a lie, not truly.
Meanwhile, as far as I know, many people are saying that the Americans liked frankness and honesty from others.
